The truce between Russia and Ukraine over the future of Crimea and Donbas has been delayed for 15 years over the likely outcome of Crimea under Russia after annexation. A recent example is Ukraine where the uncertain situation has stirred up the world and opposition to the invasion of Russia through the United Nations by most of the states. The negotiations were held in Turkey between Russia and Ukraine delegates to discuss the framework for a peace settlement for the war in Ukraine.
The negotiation has not able to end the war and use of weapons in Ukraine, the meeting was held between representatives of Ukraine and Russia. Russian spokesperson Vladimir Medinsky has agreed to end an escalation in a two-step process of de-escalation. The hostility towards Chernihiv and Kyiv capital of Ukraine has decreased in the northern parts of Ukraine. The hostility increased due to Kyiv's intentions to get membership in NATO to avert potential threats emanating from Putin's aggressive policy towards the Zelensky. Putin and Zelensky have initiated the peace treaty through the foreign ministers to broker a deal to end conflict within Ukraine. Mevlüt Cavusoglu, Turkish delegate said, our top priority is to achieve a ceasefire between Ukraine and Russia to develop a framework towards the permanent political solution to end differences and the reservations of both parties in the conflict.
Ukraine has demanded to include the guarantors from the permanent members of the UN Security Council to ensure protection and neutrality. That is the condition for Ukraine to end its hostility toward Russia. Since, Russia is one of the permanent members of the UNSC. They voted the resolution passed over Russia’s intervention in Ukraine. Putin has opposed the reaction of Ukraine after the Russian intervention in the country. They have demanded a fix of Ukraine's recent status as a non-aligned and non-nuclear state for permanent neutrality. They have shifted their focus of policy towards NATO instead of European Union for protection from any aggression externally that challenges their sovereignty. Territorial sovereignty is significant for any state of the world that is validated by the United Nations.
The question is economic integration of the EU is not enough for Ukraine? Is the increasing reliance on NATO is the hour of need or is it to defy Russian influence in the region? The shift in Politics of Eastern Europe tilting towards a major policy shift in Europe. The alliance of Belarus with Russia would be able to push NATO away from the Russian sphere of influence in Eastern Europe. Eastern Europe would blur the division between NATO and Russia or it will become part of NATO influence and challenge Putin's role in the politics of Eastern Europe.
