China's role over Ukraine Invasion by Russia

China is not a party to the crisis. In a statement issued by the Foreign minister Wang Yi said, after the phone call with Spanish Foreign Minister Jose Manuel Albares. China pursues policies independently and is not a part of the Ukraine war. They have expressed their concern and restrain to supporting any party of Ukraine crisis. China denied its involvement in the war. They have asked Kremlin to show restrain in their actions in Ukraine.

China is pressurized by global powers to avoid support to Russia. They have asked to not become an aid to Russia after sanctions were imposed on them by the EU and US. The European Union has imposed sanctions on Russia to stop escalation in Ukraine. China denied giving any support to Russia over Ukraine. The mounting pressure on China from EU countries was to limit Russia's expansion in Ukraine.

US officials accused China that they have given aid in the economic and military sectors. China refused claims of the US by calling them baseless. China had made it clear they have not given any support to Russia after the sanctions were imposed on them by the EU and Biden’s administration after the invasion of Ukraine. China has not supported Russia to invade Ukraine amid tensions between both countries.

China has expressed its disdain to the US government for not supporting the independence of Taiwan. Despite their discussions with China over Taiwan, the US has supported nationalists in Taiwan for autonomy from China. China protested US support for the independence of Taiwan from China. This issue became a bone of contention between the US and China. In the case of Ukraine US accused China to support Russia to pressurize the US over the Taiwan issue.

The Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has denied the need for support from China to continue their military action in Ukraine. Russia has denied taking the help of any other country to continue its operation in Ukraine. China and Russia have close bilateral ties with each other. They support each other on the global front but in the case of Ukraine, Russia has taken a unilateral decision.
