Challenges to Turkey's Economy

Turkey is facing an economic crisis at the domestic level. The economic indicators have been showing the issues in their economic growth. The people have concerns about low economic growth and its impact on Turkey. The invasion of Russia has raised concern for other regional countries. Turkey is one of the countries that will have a negative impact on their economy due to instability at the regional level that directly influences their economy.

Russia‘s invasion has exposed the security vulnerabilities of Turkey. The pressure is mounting on Turkey due to instability in Ukraine. The uncertainty in regional politics has shifted the focus of the leadership of Turkey towards Ukraine. It poses threat to the security of Turkey although they have good relations with both Russia and Ukraine they have to choose to support US and NATO.


According to analysts, at domestic, the crackdown is happening on opposition to oppose the policies of Erdogan leadership through the justice and Development Party(AKP). The political party that supports Kurdish Peoples Democratic. Several party members, including its former co-chair, Selahattin Demirtas, remain in jail. The present government of Turkey is not in favor of the Pro-Kurdish party and opposed them at the national level.

The current situation in Ukraine has opened doors for Turkey in International and regional diplomacy. Turkey offers to become a diplomatic door to mediate between Russia and Ukraine. The proximity of Turkey to Ukraine poses a challenge to their economy. Turkey is facing economic structural problems, refugees from Ukraine can burden their economy. They favor the resolution of Ukraine through peaceful means.
The shift in policy Turkey’s policy towards regional politics can help the ruling party in regaining its popularity at the domestic level. The economic issues will not resolve on their own. It can be possible through constructive steps to retire their economy at the domestic level. The engagement at the international front can create more problems for the struggling economy. The people have expressed their concern over the economic issues and criticized the policy of Erdogan.

Melting Glaciers in Antarctic Region

Satellite images show the 1,200sq km (463sq miles) Conger Ice Shelf collapsed completely in March. According to studies by scientists, the large chunks of ice attached to the land acts as a buffer to prevent ice from melting and flowing into the ocean increasing the risk of submergence due to a rise in sea level on the land areas. Heat Wave in Europe : 2022

  A wildfire  erupted in different parts of Europe amid the heat wave creating havoc for people.   Scientists have linked wildfire to climate change which has become a major concern that is leading to extreme weather conditions.
