Ukraine Conflict

Russian premier Putin accuses US authorities role in the escalating conflict in Ukraine. Ukraine is looking to join NATO to ensure its security. The purpose of giving support to Ukraine is to push Russia into war and impose more sanctions on Russia. As per the threat assessment of experts Russia is planning on invading Ukraine to disrupt regional security. Russia rejected the likely war between Russia and Ukraine accusations of the US and its allies.  The statement of US Secretary of State Antony Blinken tweeted that the US was "committed to preventing a conflict that is in no one's interest".

The US has offered Russia further negotiations after refusal by Putin to boycott any future collaboration with them. In order to continue talks with Russian authorities, other forums are taken up. For example, US-Russia Strategic Stability Dialogue, and the NATO-Russia Council are working to prevent any sort of conflict. NATO gave a statement on a recent episode of conflict between Russia and Ukraine “It is the position of the United States government that progress can only be achieved on these issues in an environment of de-escalation with respect to Russia’s threatening actions towards Ukraine.”

NATO is perusing open door policy by reinstating its role as a collective security organization. Every state is free to join NATO in form of a security agreement without any external pressures of any other state. The two acts on European security Helsinki Final Act, the NATO-Russia Founding Act works on the three basic principles sovereignty, territorial integrity, and every state’s right to choose its security agreements and alliances. NATO rejected Russian claims of violations in the politics of Europe. Russia has also shown concerns over Ukraine's intentions to join NATO to increase its security from any external state. Russia is considered a major threat to Ukraine.

There are two blocs within Ukraine one bloc wants to become a member of NATO against any potential threat. The other bloc constitutes separatists who depend on security from Russia. The Russian peacekeeping forces provide support to Ukrainian forces. Russia in their defense is avoiding any risk that may become a cause of war in the region. Russia is more interested in keeping Ukraine out of joining the Western security Alliance. Putin said while addressing the concerns over the US role in the case of Ukraine’s security, it is using the ex-Soviet country as a “tool” in its efforts to contain Russia.

The hostility towards Chernihiv and Kyiv capital of Ukraine has decreased in the northern parts of Ukraine. The hostility increased due to Kyiv's intentions to get membership in NATO to avert potential threats emanating from Putin's aggressive poli...

Melting Glaciers in Antarctic Region

Satellite images show the 1,200sq km (463sq miles) Conger Ice Shelf collapsed completely in March. According to studies by scientists, the large chunks of ice attached to the land acts as a buffer to prevent ice from melting and flowing into the ocean increasing the risk of submergence due to a rise in sea level on the land areas. The areas on coastlines are in danger of receding land areas due to the rise in sea levels. The temperature reaching 40C (70F) above normal in parts of East Antarctica, is unusual for the region during this time of the year. Scientists, consider the melting of ice in Antarctica is likely to increase the risk of flooding. The rapid pace of melting of ice has adverse effects on the land adjoining the ocean. Melting of ice is creating an effect Neff described as “a fire hose of moisture phenomenon. The rate of climate change is three times warmer in the Antarctic than in the Arctic Ocean. In the context of factors, first and foremost is the increase in greenhous...

The scourging heat has contributed to increasing in wildfires that led to the excavation of people. The temperature is expected to reach 40 Celsius in different parts of Europe as per the health advisory issued by countries in Europe.     Portugal and Spain are the most affected countries by the recent wave of heat waves. The firefighters are fighting to extinguish the wildfire and rescue the operation of people stranded in the wildfire. Scientists have predicted more wildfires in the coming years. In Portugal, five regions were affected areas due to heat waves where the temperature rose to 47 Celsius.  Wildfires have destroyed 30,000 hectares of land in Portugal and 100 people have lost their lives due to wildfires.
